Instructions:
1) Install Maxon App.
2) Install Plugins.
3) Run script with (bash doesn’t have colours & zsh won’t patch correctly): sudo sh /path/to/script

I got it working after some head scratching.
How:
> Install Little Snitch
— I am using v.6.3.3 other version might work
— This is to block/allow background connection
— I have all connection allowed except Maxon and/or anything pop during Maxon installation
> Run Maxon App installer
— Block all connection request while installing (little snitch will popup to ask)
— Choose ANY and FOREVER
> Run RedGiant Installer
— Error creating directory /***unknown variable aesupportfilepath1***
— Why: Maxon 2025 is old and not compatible with newer AE
— Solution: Install older AfterEffect to keep the installer happy Installing AE 25.0 seems to do the trick
> Run patch:
— sudo sh /WhereverYouPlaceIt/maxon_2025.2.1_patch.sh
Success!
Trapcode runs in AE2025 and AE2026
Error creating directory …. THIS WORK FOR ME, ONLY FOLLOWING THE COMMANDS IN TERMINAL.

you need to download AE version 24, once it is installed run the plugin then it will detect the directory. When it’s finished installing packages, follow the instruction. After that, you can open it with AE version 25

some plugin from trapcode is showing “failed to load” error in the startup screen of after effects, namely
-> tao, lux, horizon, 3d stroke, tao, starglow, mir and sound key.
Any idea how to fix it.
*this problem is with original ae 2025, not the cracked version.

After multiple attempts, this has worked for me for AE but unfortunately is not loading into Premiere Pro 2025.
Any idea why?

Se o script estiver na pasta Downloads, o caminho pode ser algo como:
sudo sh ~/Downloads/maxon_2025.2.1_patch.sh
A principio não funcionou e pediu para fazer ativação da licença.
Mas era porque eu estava logado no app da Maxon, foi só deslogar que funcionou normalmente
Go to privacy and security in your mac and give terminal full disk access before apliing the script. it worked for me.
switch to RLM mode was the most important step.

It worked for me, but first I uninstalled the Maxon app, ran the patch. When reinstalling the Maxon app it automatically recognizes the license and the RLM mode appears. From then on just follow the steps as described above.

– Install the dmg’s
– Extract “maxon_2025.2.1_patch.sh” file somewhere on your computer.
– Open Terminal
– Write this (without “”)
“sudo sh ”
– Drag the maxon_2025.2.1_patch.sh file to Terminal window and press ‘return’
– Enter your password.. bla bla..

did what others said;
getting “FAILED: License needs activation
Please go to Maxon App to assign your license.” on AE.
even though terminal said that license was valid and activated.
